AFTERCARE GUIDELINES

Congratulations on your fabulous new eyelashes! Please read the following information carefully so you know how to look after your lashes in order to maintain them!

Right after lash application

Eyelash adhesive actually takes 24 hours to completely cure and, therefore, the first 24 hours are the most important time to ensure that your lashes will last:

  • Do not wet your lashes for 24 hours

  • Avoid saunas, jacuzzis and very hot showers for 48 hours

  • Do not actively do sport for approximately 24 hours

Cleaning your lashes

Keeping your lashes clean is so very important, not only will they look better but they will last longer and most importantly protect the health of your eyes.

Our skin secretes oil and as your therapist will have explained, oil is one of the biggest factors to cause premature loss of extensions. Constant neglect of your lashes will result in increased sensitivity and a higher chance of you developing a full allergy which would deem you unsuitable for eyelash extensions again. The very minimum you should be doing is washing your lashes 4-5 times a week with a specifically formulated lash cleanser to remove oil and debris or as advice by your therapist.

Cleaning Instructions:

  • Using the recommended cleanser, dispense a small amount and work the solution through the lashes from root to tip with the wands/brush provided or using an old bristly make up brush.

  • Rinse lashes thoroughly with cool or lukewarm water.

  • Using a clean, dry towel/kitchen towel gently pat the lashes with your eyes closed to remove excess water (DO NOT RUB LASHES)

  • Either leave lashes to dry naturally or you can use a hairdryer on a cool setting only

  • Gently brush through the lashes with a clean mascara wand (provided), not in the way that you would apply mascara but first downwards with eyes closed (with a rolling motion) and then upwards with eyes open just put the extensions in the right direction (if needed).

Daily Maintenance

To keep your lashes looking fuller for longer there are a few rules you need to follow....

  • Be gentle with your eyes - avoid rubbing them, do not pull them as this will only damage your natural lashes

  • Do not perm or curl lashes after application, this will break the extension and damage your natural lashes

  • Do not use mascara -especially waterproof one

  • Avoid liquid/crayon/gel eyeliner as they are all oil based products and will inevitably break down the adhesive causing the extensions to fall off and it also prevents you from cleansing properly and leaves you at risk of infection. If you need to wear eyeliner, we recommend using black eye shadow instead ( damp the shadow brush and this will deepen the colour) , or felt tip eyeliner at the most (looking like a marker one)

  • Avoid using oily product and oil based facial cleansers near the eye area. If you use eye moisturisers  try to use as little as possible and preferably in the morning only

  • On average we naturally lose 2-5 natural lashes per eye, per day. Therefore we recommend infill appointments every 3-3,5 weeks to keep your lashes full

  • Do not perm your lashes and never use eyelash curlers while having extensions on

  • Wash your lashes at least once a day (in the evening) if you use make up on daily basis

  • Do not brush your lashes while they are wet

  • If you exercise or pool swim-wash your extensions straight after the gym session

  • Avoid heat close to your lashes such as lighter or oven steam, as this may cause the tips or even the full body of the lash extensions to melt and cringe

  • If you wish to have lashes removed please contact your therapist to arrange to have them professionally and safely removed for you.

PLEASE DO NOT ATTEMPT TO REMOVE LASH EXTENSIONS AT HOME!!!

If you have any questions regarding aftercare, please DO ask your therapist! We are always more than happy to go into more details if needed or to show how exactly to wash your lashes if you are unsure how to.
